Introduction

Jangsan Mountain was formed with volcanic ash, lava, and pyroclastic flows produced from the intense rhyolitic volcanic action about 70 million years ago. Thus, the mountain is full of diverse volcanic rocks, such as spherulitic rhyolite, rhyolitic tuff, and porphyritic rhyolite, as well as the majestic features of Jangsan Falls, the talus, and inselberg. Even at the shallow entrance of the mountain, you will already feel disconnected from the city. You can also admire the fantastic panorama of the coastal downtown, including Haeundae and Gwangandaegyo Bridge, from the summit of Jangsan Mountain.
