Samjeolsa Shrine, located in Bansong 2-dong, is a shrine dedicated to the sacrifice of Yang Ji (梁誌), Yang Jo-han (梁朝漢), and Yang Tong-han (梁通漢), who gave their lives fighting in the Japanese invasions of Korea in 1592. It was originally built upon the petition of the regional scholars in Dongnae-bu in the 5th year of King Heonjong (1839) and was expanded to its present place the following year. After the Japan–Korea Annexation Treaty of 1910, the shrine’s plate and other paraphernalia were confiscated and lost, but the name board of Sehandang Shrine was preserved. Following the discussions of local scholars and descendants in 1989, the shrine was rebuilt in June 1990. A memorial service is held every spring (late lunar February) and fall (late lunar August) to commemorate their spirit of fidelity and loyalty.
